Ending to H. P. Lovecraft's "The Shadow Out of Time"?

Of what significance is it that one of the tomes found in the ruins of the Yithian libraries is written in the english language? More importantly, of what significance is it that this tome is written in the main character's handwriting? I at first thought that this meant that we were the Yithians, but this ultimately makes no sense... Help?
