GUYS PLEASE ANSWER! is my friend gay?

Okay...so i've had this guy friend for a REAALLY long tome...but he has issues with opening up. Im pretty sure he's gay. Or at least bi. He's very flamboyant...or loud and comical so people tease him a lot about being gay. We also live in a pretty close minded community so some jerks can be very crude and hurtful in this. He reads yaoi (which is gay comic porn basically) and will sometimes comment on how cute a guy is. But when I confront him about it...he's quick to say that he knows a lot of straight men who do this and can still remain straight...my question...is that true?
